Rachel stood next to Melanie in the medical centre, supervising the medics to make sure they had enough supplies to treat all of the wounded soldiers. There were far more of them than she had realised. They filled the corridors, and every available room, some standing while others sat with their backs against the walls. Others lay on the floor, their pale faces peering out of body bags. She had been too slow to save them all.

'Can we move these people out of here?' she said. 'We can't just leave them lying on the floor.'
